Introduction to the fundamentals of typography, including its theory, practice, technology and history. Emphasis is on the study and practice of typographic vocabulary, anatomy, proportion, grids, hierarchy and legibility in type applications. Students will analyze typographic solutions and their impact on visual communication messaging.
Monogram | The primary objective of this project is to achieve a harmonious synthesis between typographic forms that were assigned, and in the process create a new visual configuration through discovering the dynamic relationship between form and counter form.
Poster | The objective of this project was to use a linear grid structure to create a poster by organizing typographic elements into spatial compositions.
Self-expressive design of a few paragraphs in order to typographically explore the relationship of content and form, and to better understand their own limitations in both simple and complex designs. The purpose of this project is to devise a typographic form responsive to the message in the text.
